Threshold Increase Offers Hope for Greater Approval of Innovative Kidney Disease Treatments This week the government has announced that it is investing in innovative, safe and effective treatments by enabling an increase to the threshold that the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) use when considering new medicines for NHS use. The threshold has been increased from £20,000-£30,000 to £25,000-£35,000, with the aim of giving NICE the opportunity to approve more new medicines and less incidences of treatments being declined on purely cost-effectiveness grounds. We hope this will be a step in the right direction of giving kidney patients access to innovative medicines and improve the lives of those living with the disease across the UK.View the Government's response here Manage Cookie Preferences
